Begin your journey after an exquisite breakfast to begin a day that is awash in the rich history of Sri Lanka. The fortress of the fifth century Sigiriya is located over a rock that rises dramatically, about 200m above the jungle. It is a fantastic location to begin your journey. On the top of this massive rock, you were referred to as "Lion Rock," King Kashyapa built the castle. It was only in the time that the British found it and began an exhaustive archaeological search. It was the most vital point of an enormous fortified city. However, over time, it was neglected and hidden in thick undergrowth. The remains of this once-thriving city offer a glimpse of what was once in this area. Go to the top and admire the breathtaking views of the picturesque scene. Discover the well-preserved ruins of Polonnaruwa at the end of the afternoon. It was built around 1,000 years ago and contains large artificial lakes fed by a network of irrigation canals. It also includes the remains of a royal palace along with various architectural structures and temples. Visit the Auditorium Hall and its Lotus Bath, the monument of King Parakramabahu, and the Gal Viharaya with its four stunning Buddha statues. Before returning to your hotel, you can take in the sights from the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, and the Watadage, along with the Galpotha. The complex is also home to many meters of painted ceilings and walls. Go to the herb and spice garden in Matale following that. The spices that originate from Sri Lanka, including turmeric cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon, as well as lemongrass, are considered to be some of the finest around the world. Drink a refreshing tea with herbal ingredients while you learn about the therapeutic advantages of different spices and methods! After that, you'll travel to Kandy and make sure to stop at the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, enthusiastic gardeners where the Brits supplied them with the framework for their gardens and introduced a range of plants and flowers leading to the delicious spice and flowering fields of orchids that can be observed in the present. There is even a tree planted in the year 1901 through Prince George as well as Queen Mary's remains. Experience a dramatic performance of the culture during the evening, which includes 12 traditional and folk dances. A drummer ensemble with ceremonial drums supports the show.
